Healthy eating lowers risk for many illnesses

Harvard medical school has a website that recently published an article titled Scoring highly on Alternative Healthy Eating Index lowers risk for many illnesses.  In this article Kelly Biodeau explains that, "focusing on combinations of foods vetted for their disease-fighting ability can help lower risks for many chronic illnesses, including cancer, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease that can lead to heart attacks and strokes?”  This coming from a medical school is huge!  I am so happy that this is being studied as so many people have seen their health improve in this way.  It is amazing what overall health improvement and a focus on lowering risks for chronic illnesses can accomplish.  Some top choices that this study describes include eating: vegtables, fruits, whole grains, nuts, legumes, vegtable proteins, fish, and healthy fats.  A good general guideline would be a medetarian style diet.
